In July we took the decision as a charity and the Parents Forum for Peterborough to raise concerns with central government over the state of SEND services locally. We are seeing the impact of lack of funds and poor resourcing through austerity measures on SEND services and families who have children and young people with SEND. The original letter can be read here
In the SEND OFSTED/ CQC Inspection Letter following Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group inspection concerns have been raised over the support offered to SEND families.
We have had an initial response to our letter from the Department of Health and Social Care which you can read here. The letter really only tells us what we already know. We are going to follow this up and will also be seeking a response from the Department for Education.
