Peterborough City Council (PCC) has just announced their medium term financial strategy 2020/21 Phase One Budget Proposals and there are some stark decisions being proposed.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities – House of Commons Education Committee (Report)

On 23rd October the Education Select Committee published their report in to the state of SEND. The report follows an 18 month inquiry in to the SEND reforms. The findings provide evidence of a system that is failing those it was set up to support.

Letter of Concern Follow Up

In July we took the decision as a charity and the Parents Forum for Peterborough to raise concerns with central government over the state of SEND services locally. We are seeing the impact of lack of funds and poor resourcing  through austerity measures on SEND services and families who have children and young people with SEND. Community Project

Building Better Communities Together Family Voice Peterborough are pleased to announce that funding has been awarded of just over £19,000 to deliver the “Building Stronger Communities” project to create a hub for Orton residents and SEND families across Peterborough to take part in activities, and receive advice, signposting and information on topics relevant to them. The funding will enable staffing to run and promote the project; the continued delivery of various activities from the Goldhay Centre and the development of some new initiatives for families.  For a link to a short clip showin
